ABOUT THE SURVEY QUESTIONS
Why
am I asked to list the products obtained by other members of my
household as well as those I purchased myself?
This site is designed to represent households across Great
Britain so it is crucial that we include all of your household's
purchases not just your own personal purchases.
Who
exactly is included in my household?
Your household consists of yourself and any other individuals
that you live with who are either related to yourself and / or
share common responsibility for food and household purchases.
Do
I have to record all purchases (made by me or anyone in my
household) as soon as possible after they have been made?
Yes please. This helps you to remember what has been bought,
even if it was a gift. This is intended as much for your benefit
as ours.
Why
do you want the details of a persons age/sex and the
brand/manufacturer’s name?
This helps us to identify the type of people who bought or use the product. This
allows manufacturers and retailers to understand who is using and buying
their products.
I
have very little to fill in and buy most of my purchases from
charity shops.
There
is no "right" amount of purchases that you need to make in order
to fill in the diary correctly. To ensure our research is
representative of the British population it is important that we
include people who buy few or no items as well as those who make
numerous purchases.
All we ask is that you tell us about the purchase you make on
the "My
Purchases" page. Once or twice a year we also ask you to
answer some more general questions about your household. These
questions enable us to represent your purchases accurately. This
information is NEVER used to identify you or your household.
